Our Environment Discussion Covenant
GUIDING WISDOM:
“The right word spoken at the right time is as beautiful as gold apples in a silver bowl.” (Proverbs 25:11)
“Let no harmful word come out of your mouth, but only what is beneficial for building others up according to the need, so that it gives grace to those who hear it.” (Ephesians 4:29)
“Life is short, and you love your wife, so enjoy being with her.” (Ecclesiastes 9:9)
Our Core Commitment
For this discussion, we commit to creating a safe, loving space focused on mutual understanding. We are here to celebrate our communication strengths, identify our differences in perception, and offer positive support to build new, life-giving habits. We trust God to transform our communication as we look into the mirror of our relationship with grace, clarity, and a shared desire to grow.
Why We Commit
To ensure our spouse feels deeply valued, loved, and heard, while sparking renewed trust and intimacy.
Non-Negotiable Ground Rules
- Timing & Environment: We will not meet if either of us is tired, hungry, or stressed.
- Mindset & Tone: Zero complaints or criticisms. We will use warm, friendly voices and caring words focused on solutions. Our goal is to understand, not to prove who is right.
- Presence: We will eliminate digital distractions, sit side-by-side (not across), maintain eye contact, and keep an open posture.
